Nov 2018 • Family It’s a very good place to host b’day party for kids… unlimited fun… .. had been there many times. Nov 2018 • Family The place might be challenging to find, being hidden between commercial buildings, if you are not paying attention to the signs. Don’t rely on your GPS once on Ethel. It is slightly ran down, which is understandable with the amount of business they get. From a guest perspective, it was no different from any other kids party place. Multiple rooms (our party included the glow room), teenage staff members, wavers best to be completed online prior to the event. It seems to be a good option for an indoor party to drain some energy out of a bunch of 7 year olds. When comparing the package prices listed online with that of other types of kids parties, this one also appears fairly affordable. Aug 2018 • Family I booked my childs party at Pump It Up and it was so much fun both for the children and the adults. I recommend booking a party with them because of the convinience and atmosphere. Feb 2017 • Family Kids always fun at the 57,234 parties they and I have attended. Lots of eyes watching the kiddos. The parties are done well. For the parents, an absolutely boring experience. Mar 2017 We paid $800 for my son’s bday party and complete waste of money.. the staff was worst as Compared to tons of other parties we have hosted.. if u requested them anything they would say they can’t do anything and would let the attendent know… that was rediculous as u have to take care of things right then and there…they dint make kids play games in the second room.. while cake cutting they gave my son a paper crown usually they have an inflatable one but when I asked they said ,» we ran out of the and will be getting more » that was rediculous with the kind of money I spent this was not expected.. then they took their own sweet time to cut the cake.. there was a point kids starting touching the Cake as they wanted to eat the cake.. I had to tell
The server to cut the cake as they said we can’t cut the cake ourselves .. basically no one in the staff wanted to work… the worst experience ever rather complete disappoint after paying soo much… watch out and pick a better place for ur kids bday parties.. Jul 2016 • Family We had my daughter’s Birthday at Edison Pump it up last year and it was very good. So this year I planned again but in PIscatway branch. The people looked like had no experience, the lady took forever to decorate just 4 small banners inspite of asking me 3 4 times , she coudl not do what I asked her for. They were not detial oriented and did not ask if we need decoration dolls on the cake and baloons we bought. Last time as I had all these taken care of the ppl there in edison, I did not realise I need to let these guys know everything and I had to manage it myself and not rely on them. That is one of the reason ppl choose this place. but this is not what I ex[ected. I am very disappointed with this place. Even the photos they clicked were not worth the money, it looked like they just dint care.I do not recommend this branch to any one, but edison was really good. Jul 2016 • Family I took my two year old here to get out some energy during an open jump session (a rainy Wednesday evening in summer — place was pretty busy). Plenty of parking. Checking in was super easy, as was validating my groupon deal. The girl I interacted with at the front desk was very friendly. I would say this place is more for bigger kids and not really a place for toddlers. Even though you only need to be about 34 inches to jump, there are many other big kids that really don’t care about trampling your little one, and most parents sit on the outskirts of the room not paying attention. I went in knowing I’d be hands-on and right next to my kid the whole time, but even still, it was very hard to keep him from being squashed by these other kids that play rough and have a blatant disregard for others and the rules (not cutting in line for the slides, to get into the bounce houses, etc.). Most of these kids were definitely old enough to know right from wrong (in the 7-8 age range). They have little spaces for the younger kids, some of those Cozy Coupes and things for them to play with, and in one of the rooms, a little area (specifically labeled for «toddlers») sectioned off that was filled with big foam blocks for building. We had a few minutes of fun in there, until it was overrun with the larger kids. I will say that the employees in the rooms monitoring did a pretty good job, I did have to ask one to keep an eye on an older boy who was seeking out my boyfriend to purposely kick him. You’ll get kids behaving like that at any of these sorts of places though I guess. I felt it was worth it, but only because I got the groupon which provided me with four jumps for the price of two. I will be back to use the other three, but only when my little guy is a bit bigger, for safety reasons. I have toyed with the idea of suggesting that they make separate open jumps, one for the younger kids and one for the older (especially since they have two separate rooms and could have them at the same time, then switch), but I feel like it wouldn’t be heard. I did see a few other parents with toddlers there though that I think would agree with me. It’s stressful with smaller kids. I wouldn’t take them just because they’re at the right height. There are some run-of-the-mill arcade games in addition to the bounce houses, but overall the place is sort of small and there’s not enough room to spread out. They have huge hula hoops out to play with and about 3 or 4 feet of space to play with them in the middle of the main walking path through one room = whacked with hula hoops. Not usually my style but it is almost mandatory to be a helicopter parent here when you are with a small child. Lots of ways for them to get hurt. Just my two cents. Older kids definitely enjoy it. I paid and was out the door before the 2 hrs. I talked to a manager they said they don’t force people to leave. I didn’t understand , I guess they wanted our party to hang out in the front entrance, and use they rest of our paid time standing around. Wilmington, DE836 contributions Nov 2017 • Family The facility is fine and spacious. There are two rooms with similar inflatables. Both rooms have a nice slide, a moonbounce, an obstacle course, and an air hockey table. The admin staff was nice, but the hired help needs some work. We were there for 1.5 hours, mostly in the first room. There was no staff present during the whole time we were there. In the back room, there were two young ladies. I would call them ‘staff’, except they were sitting on top of the air hockey table the whole time. They really should have been in the first room where most of the children were, but I guess they were too busy hanging out. At one point, there was a boy who wanted to play air hockey, but he was rebuffed. Anyway, the kids (my two and my friend’s two) had a good time and the manager addressed the inattentive staff, so all is hopefully well. Aug 2017 • Family I’ve been to Pump It Up a handful of times. We were there tonight for our cousins birthday and it’s definitely gone downhill. The floors were dirty, they didn’t have safety plugs on the outlets, they had a leaking air conditioner (the water bucket right next to an outlet), the platform in the second room was filthy, the projector wasn’t working, and the pizza was wicked late. On a positive note the staff was friendly. Written August 15, 2017 This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. Feb 2017 • Family We were invited to another birthday party at Pump it Up. Kids had a blast the first time so we did not hesitate to go when invited back for another child party. Kids were welcomed and shown a brief video on safety rules, then given hand sanitizer and admitted to the play area. Kids placed their shoes and jackets on a rolling cart that followed them from room to room. Only problem I saw here was that it was winter & with lots of coats, the cart was NOT large enough. Kids did have fun here. They enjoyed the large inflatable slides. Place did NOT seem as clean as the previous visit. There was visible dust on tops of the inflatables. After play time, kids moved into the party room where they were served pizza and birthday cake. Staff was good about making sure everyone got served & even asked IF they wanted seconds. Overall, the kids had a blast. I think things went smoothly from introduction to play to party room. I just wish the place would invest in their space. They need some painting repairs and cleaning. Also a better system for coats/shoes would be nice, especially in colder seasons when people are carrying more belongings. Sep 2016 • Family My kids were invited to a friend’s birthday party (turning five) at Pump it Up. First of all, they had a BLAST! If they were voting, it would definitely get 5 stars. Upon entry, kids placed their presents for the guest of honor into a «present box». The kids were shown an instructional video before going into the first play room. An employee was designated to give the kids hand sanitizer as they were going into the first play room. Shoes were removed and placed into a rolling cart with little cubby holes for shoes. Kids were taken from one play room into another and then onto the party room. Both play rooms had large inflatables in them for the kids to play on, including HUGE slides. There was an inflatable climbing wall of sorts. There was also an air hockey table and a caged-in ball cannon game in the play areas. At one point in the party, the kids played with a floor mat that had images of balloons projected onto it. The goal was to pop the balloons with your feet. Also, the kids were all seated on this play mat for a group photo. The last room the kids entered was the party room where the guest of honor was given a big throne to sit on & a crown. Food and cake was served in this room. Kids were served chicken fingers and pizza from Season’s Pizza. Kids liked the chicken tenders and cake. Overall, the kids had so much FUN. They talked about it ALL night and the next day! My husband said the place was very clean and I LOVED how hand sanitizer was dispensed at entry! We thought it really nice how they moved you from one play room to the next in order to keep the party moving and fresh. We also loved how the kid’s shoes moved with the kids on a rolling cart, so they did not get lost in the shuffle. The only downside was that the kids did get friction burns on their elbows and arms from sliding down the big slides. The instructional video showed them how to prevent friction burns by crossing their arms as they were sliding. Most of the guests were toddlers so the instructional video was probably well forgotten by the time they saw the first big slide. Kids still loved it & we would recommend. Aug 2016 • Family Pump it up is a family friendly venue that has excellent customer service. The prices are reasonable and the kids will have a blast. We had my daughter’s 5th bday here yesterday. No complaints. Written August 7, 2016 This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. May 2016 • Family I took my son here using a groupon special I got. We were the first ones there for the day so you’d expect a clean play area. No, this place was filthy. There was literal garbage on the floor. I tried to take a picture of the top of the rides, which had thick layers of dust, but couldn’t get a good shot with my camera phone. I understand that cleaning on top of those inflatables might be hard to do, but for it to be noticeable from the ground means it hadn’t been done in a very long time. If you look at one of my pictures I took, you can see that the intake grate was covered in a thick layer of dust also. My daughter and I both had trouble breathing because the air was so dusty, and it was super super hot in the first room. I also found it odd that they put you in one room and then move you into another room later on. I’ve never been in any playhouse before that does this. Kids have preferences. Some kids will find one thing they like and want to play on it and nothing else but it for an hour. Why not have both rooms open and simply one have employee per room? The employees were very lazy and didn’t do much of anything except for about 5 mins the female cleaned the door of one of the games. We had 2 employees in the rooms with us who spent most of the time flirting with each other and even took some time out to play a couple of games of air hockey as you can see in the picture I submitted. How can they make sure everything is okay and that everyone is safe if they are playing air hockey? There was also safety issues, like a long blue extension cord lying out underneath the kids games on the wall. Not tucked away or covered, but just strewn about. It was very annoying having a hurricane type simulator game in the 2nd room with a door that doesn’t lock closed. The kids kept fighting over it and opening and closing the door. I wouldn’t be surprised to find out that kids have had their fingers crushed in the door. The air cannon game wasn’t in operation either. Unless they clean up their act, I can’t recommend this place at all. There are other places to take your kids. Apr 2016 • Family We were in this facility to attend a birthday party. They lead you into the first room which is HOT and some of the items were broken. The inflatables are worn and old and everything is dirty. For children running around and sticking their faces and stocking feet on everything you would hope it would be cleaner. The 2nd room was bigger and slightly cooler. However the children were not allowed to play on some of the equiptment. The attendant didn’t want to monitor the climbing inflatable so she simply closed it and guarded it. The host of the party provided food etc and the party room was super small. The kids enjoyed themselves and were mostly 6-7 years old. I would not recomend this location to anyone.
